The ACT Government operates several facilities that use gas as a fuel for heating water. ITP Renewables was engaged by the ACT Property Group to investigate options for full or part substitution of natural gas at these facilities, to combat rising gas prices and help meet the ACT Government’s greenhouse gas emissions targets. The Meat and Livestock Association (MLA) asked ITP Renewables to investigate the potential for renewable energy technologies at six abattoirs in New South Wales and Queensland, in preparation for a potential increase in coal and gas prices as a result of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS). This UNIDO-funded project involved the feasibility studies of PV and bioenergy projects on selected businesses in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Kiribati, and Samoa and identified sources of co-funding for the projects, with the bulk of the financing coming from the businesses themselves. Read more
