CSIRO Armidale Solar Feasibility Study
ITP Renewables was engaged by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in 2018 to assess the feasibility of a large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic system at the CSIRO Armidale site.
ITP assessed the network capacity and terrain conditions before analysing the economic viability of ground-mounted PV systems between 0.5MW and 20MW. The financial analysis investigated a range of procurement options, costing scenarios, and revenue structures. The report also included discussion of virtual net metering, battery and roof-mounted PV options, and grid connection processes. CSIRO will use the results of the report to inform decisions on meeting their Environmental Sustainability Strategy targets.
