To mitigate the impact of future electricity price rises, Icon Water engaged ITP Renewables in 2018 to assess the technical and financial feasibility of installing grid-connected PV at its water treatment facilities in the ACT.
The systems ranged in size from 20 kWp to 2.5 MWp, and were located at facilities where security (both physical and cyber) and reliability were paramount, and standards for electrical works stringent. The project involved a feasibility study at each site, and drafting tender specifications to be put out to market. The systems are expected to be built throughout 2018.
