ITP Renewables was engaged by SA Water in 2018 to provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services for the construction of a power system to supply a water treatment plant in the remote community of Murputja in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands of north western South Australia
The 24kW solar system is mounted on the roof above the UV water treatment equipment. Lithium-ion batteries, six off-grid inverters and a PV inverter are housed in a 20-foot shipping container under the array. Under normal conditions, the system will meet all energy requirements for the site. The system was connected to the local diesel mini-grid in a zero-export configuration in 2019. Services provided included: - design, supply, installation and commissioning of the new renewable energy system - design, supply and commissioning of a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for remote monitoring - operation and maintenance of the system for 12 months
