Niue Renewable Energy Design

ITP Renewables was engaged in 2016 to develop a Renewable Energy Roadmap for Niue, and are providing ongoing support toward its implementation. The roadmap assessed the state of Niue’s existing generation infrastructure and identified key projects for improving power system efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability. The timing of the projects proposed was determined in accordance with Niue’s national renewable energy targets, and funding requirements for each project were estimated. Following completion of the Roadmap, ITP was commissioned to prepare and manage the tender process for one of the projects identified in the Roadmap.

ITP subsequently provided project management and technical supervision of the design and installation of a 600kWp decentralised solar PV system, the design and installation of a 3MWh centralised lithium-ion battery energy storage system, and the design and installation of a new control system integrating Niue’s existing diesel and solar PV generation infrastructure.
