Potential for Renewable Energy and Efficiency in the Pacific

ITP Renewables was engaged by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to identify opportunities for renewable energy and energy efficiency in the industrial sector in four Pacific Island countries: Palau, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu. Twelve case studies were drafted for projects across all four countries, with the goal of proposing one project for donor funding. The work included:

• scoping missions to each of the selected countries to meet with industry leaders and assess the potential for renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies
• conducting technical and economic analysis for 12 case studies
• developing a full concept proposal for funding by an international donor agency.
