Tuvalu Energy Sector Development Project
ITP Renewables was engaged in 2015 on a World Bank-funded feasibility study to investigate opportunities for increased energy efficiency and renewable energy on the Funafuti electricity network in Tuvalu.
This study formed the basis of a multi-million dollar project which will fund an increase in the share of renewable energy on the network. The project will include advanced storage and grid control technologies to enable further renewable energy penetration. ITP Renewables is responsible for managing the ongoing implementation of this project. The work included:
- feasibility studies for energy efficiency projects on government buildings
- technical and financial modelling for PV and wind on Funafuti, with large-scale battery storage.
