Demand Response Program

ITP was commissioned by Endeavour Energy in 2017 to install 42 home energy battery storage systems in Western Sydney in a trial to investigate the effectiveness of distributed storage in addressing the challenges faced by network operators in dealing with peak demand. In return for subsidising the cost of the system, Endeavour Energy reserve the right to access power from the battery at critical peak times throughout the two year trial period.

The trial will gather vital information that will enable Endeavour Energy to roll-out a wider program of demand response using distributed storage systems. On homes with existing PV systems we are installing LG Chem HV 9.8kWhr battery packs, coupled with SMA Sunny Boy Storage battery inverters. The system monitoring and control is performed by Reposit's battery management device.
