Grid connection and detailed design
ITP has been contracted to provide grid connection and detailed design services for a Battery Energy Storage System at a substation in the Molonglo Valley in Canberra.
ITP has been contracted to complete the connection application and design for a 10MW/20MWh BESS. This includes full detailed design and IFC documentation for the BESS and its connection to the adjacent zone substation. Communications design and commissioning requirements are of a higher standard for this project due to the implementation of a complex control scheme and the need to participate in the FCAS market.
The BESS will provide power to the grid during peak events, offering a significantly lower cost solution compared to expanding the substation.
