WEL Networks Microgrid
ITP Renewables was engaged by WEL Networks to develop a least cost plan for developing an embedded microgrid at the Ruakura development in Hamilton, NZ.
The Ruakura development is a major new commercial, residential and light industrial development being undertaken by Tainui Group Holdings (TGH). WEL Networks are providing an innovative microgrid solution to provide electricity to the development. A central solar farm and roof mounted solar, incorporated into all new buildings, will provide electricity during the day, while industrial scale lithium-ion batteries will store energy for use overnight. ITP Renewables are providing ongoing technical support and strategic advice to WEL Networks on the development and implementation of the microgrid.
