ACT Solar Schools

The ACT Department of Education and Training hired ITP Renewables to assist it with its Solar Schools program. The program saw the roll-out of roof-mounted grid-connected PV systems, with 10 kWp systems on primary schools and 30 kWp systems on high schools. As part of this project, ITP Renewables:

• Drafted tender documents for solar suppliers to tender on the supply and installation of the PV systems
• Evaluated bids and provided recommendations to the Department regarding the technical merit of the submissions. Three companies were selected to form a panel of suppliers for the DET.
• Inspected a random sampling of PV systems across schools in the ACT to verify that systems complied with Australian Standards and local planning requirements.
