PV + BESS + VPP Pre-Feasibility
ITP was engaged to investigate the financial case for behind-the-meter solar PV and battery energy storage systems at 7 sites connected to a constrained zone substation.
The optimal PV & BESS capacity at each site was determined by cost-benefit optimisation modelling. Cost estimation accounted for solar PV and BESS equipment and installation, as well as network connection fees and hardware. Benefit estimation accounted for savings from demand charge reduction and time-of-use energy arbitrage, alongside revenues from energy exports. Key outputs for each site were the optimal PV and BESS capacity, and the business case under a range of grant funding scenarios.
