Vanuatu Police Stations PV Design

Renewable Energy Options

The Vanuatu Australia Policing and Justice Program (VAPJP) was developing a standardised rural police station architecture design which includes solar power and rainwater harvesting systems.

As part of the investigation, ITP investigated Renewable Energy options for the Vanuatu rural police station design and provided advice concerning the structural design of the buildings. Systems providing for at least 90% of the energy consumption of the building were designed and PVsyst yield estimations were conducted.

Financial and energy-balance analyses were also performed to determine the optimum sizing of the renewable energy systems for both grid connected and off-grid systems and the IRR%, NPV and payback periods for the sites were calculated.
